To develop Standards for Forest & forest certification that is compatible and conforming to the national statues & legal framework
To support & develop the standard- setting process by establishing the standard development groups in formulating standards related to the Timber, Non Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) and Medicinal Plants certification.
To promote management system certification of Forest & Forest Produce, inspection, validation & verification in accordance with the applicable certification standards.
To act as the National Governing Body having the overall responsibility for the Network for Certification & Conservation of Forests (NCCF) in the country.
To provide a platform for bringing together bodies/ government/ non- government organizations/persons/institutions/stakeholders for promoting forest & forest produce certification schemes for long term security of forest resources.
To process & Develop the appropriate monitoring and assessment activities to assess the condition of the forest, management activities & their social & environmental impacts.
